A university used the Certified Quality Reader to monitor fish health at a rainbow trout flow-through raceway based farm.
The farm used the CQR to track proximate composition, including fat, water and health of the fish over a 12 month time frame. Using the CQR versus killing fish to send to the lab produced significant savings and saved fish which are otherwise lost.
Proximate composition cost WITHOUT the Certified Quality Reader
150 fish * $110.00 (laboratory cost) = $16,500
Proximate composition cost with the Certified Quality Reader
TOTAL SAVINGS of $14,500
